In the living room you may use a coffee table that has a compartment inside it to keep things. The same for decorated boxes that can double as end tables. In the bedrooms, there are many choices. For the children's rooms, there are toy boxes available which could double as window seats. Is there space under the bed? That's always a great place for boxes, and a way to keep things safe, but yet still off the beaten track, thus making the bedroom show up decluttered.
